The Next 1984, We, or Brave New World

Somebody should really write a book with the thematic symbolism of the NBA. Could be one of those dystopian classics, challenging the very basis of humanity. It could be awfully deep.

Think about it, the NBA is an administration, a system that has its strict rules. They are rules that are highly specific, yet arguably trivial in comparison with the means of the real world.

Thus, mirroring a normal lifestyle in the framework of the NBA makes life everything.

The concept of the court is like a cage, the boundary apparent with the rules that apply on it versus the lack of rules outside it. Putting on a display to satiate animal instincts are battling physical specimens.

And on an individual level? The players are slaves to their work, their dedication. And they believe in something so completely it engulfs their purpose.

Yet in the end: it’s all for entertainment.

And in the end: it’s all just a game. A game.
